it's called an animated gif. You have a file, picture.gif, that includes multiple frames that are cycled, one after the other. It can be anything. You can search google for collections of animated gifs.

I do NOT recommend this though. Unless you are purposefully trying to make it difficult to read your page, your comments. This type of thing is distracting and considered bad design practice.

Yeah you can use just about any picture as long as its on the internet and you have the pictures url.

Here is a very basic background code.

You have to copy the code, then in your About Me section on Myspace, you have to open that up and paste it there and click O.K. or done or whatever it says. Then you go out and come back in. there aren't codes. simply use myspace's profile editor..

whatever colors/background you save on there will be visible on your 'private page' as well.

you can find the link to the myspace editor on your home page under "myspace links" which is above your "my friend space" and the "sponsered links" section. OR click on 'edit profile' and to the right under 'view my profile' and 'account settings' is the link to 'profile editor'.

You have to be using Internet Explorer. If you're using Firefox, you cannot access the editor.

Here's an easy way to do it: go to the music tab on your myspace page. There will be a box that you can type the name of the artist you are looking for into. When it finds their page, there should be a box with one or more songs in it. Next to each song should be a link that says "add". Choose the song you want and click "add".

You must put this code into the boxes on Myspace (using edit profile) where your answers are for "About Me" "People I'd like to meet" and "My interests." Ignore 1 and 3 completely. As for an add on to #2, she's completely right. As far as background, you can't exactly just have a background. Only a complete image or an arrangement of images and links. Like if you see a page with clickable words over a "background" It just means that the word is HTML encoded to be the only thing you're able to select. No one usually bothers with that kind of ****, so you're normally able to click just the whole image as a giant link.

here a really good website to get backrounds: www.whateverlife.com then click on myspace layouts. once you find the one you like, click 'get the code'. Highlight all of the code by holding in the left button on the mouse. Then when all of the code is highlighted, right click on any part of the code and some options come up. Click on 'Copy'. once copyed, go back to your myspace. log in and once you are at your home page, click on edit profile. right click in 'about me' section and then select 'paste'. hope this helps!

For Backgrounds u can use some softwares to write the code in html and for songs if u want to upload a song u have to contact them by giving them ur URL address but if u want to add a song that u heard on other's myspace accounts , there is this little option by the song that says add, simply click on that and it will be on ur page ;)

It isn't on a site .. it's on Myspace!

The way people put those backgrounds on the private screen is by using the Myspace Profile Editor. Whatever you design %26amp; save under the Customize tab there automatically becomes both your regular AND private profile layout.

So what you're seeing is actually a reflection of their normal layout! Cool, huh? That's because the Myspace editor is different in the way that it changes your base code rather than using a bunch of html codes. Try it out for yourself!

You have to be using Internet Explorer. If you're using Firefox, you cannot access the editor.

Whatever you do, don't use any customzing site used by searching with Google. Especially the Pimp sites....they're evil! There are only a few sites that are actually approved by MySpace as being safe for use. Alot of these other sites just steal the code written by the safe sites, and include garbage code that sometimes makes a mess of your profile, or worse yet, can hijack your profile with malicious code.

Without actually looking at your profile, I'm not sure if you already have a background image on your page. If so, click on Edit Profile and go to your "About Me" section.

1. Add this code to the very bottom of that section:

2. Next, if you already have an image background, you need to get rid of this line:

body{background-image:url("BACKGROUND URL HERE");

background-attachment:fixed;}

3. Or better yet, ignore number 1, get rid of everything from the code in number 2, EXCEPT the word "BODY", and replace it with: {background-color: 000000;}

If you have no existing picture on your page, just add the code in Number 1, exactly where I told you to place it. =)

When installing a layout you must delete the entire code of the previous layout. Delete the old code and the new code and then try reinstalling the new one. That should do it.

my process:

find an image on google that you like, i dont know what you are looking for. and then right click it and save the picture. then go to photobucket.com and upload the image there then go to http://www.mygen.co.uk/ and when it asks for a picture url, go to photobucket and copy the URL box right under the picture. and create a layout. my suggestion is that you find an image that would look good tiled OR find an image that would look good centered/ full screened. customized all you want!

something similar happened to me before.. i think you probably have a code for an all red background in their somewhere. so when you put in your new code for a new background, it shows it for a second, but then the older code takes over. look through your page where you paste the code, and make sure there isn't another code in there. if there is, just delete it and you should be all set.

1. pick the layout and look for the code the website provides(usually right below the image, or it'll say "click here to get this layout")

2. copy the code.

3. log into your myspace so it's on your home page and hit edit profile.

I go to the Myspace layout site and pick which one I want. I copy and paste the code in "About Me." The problem is that when I view it the background only shows on the sides of my page. The middle of my page is a white block that is covering up the rest of the background. How can I get the layout to cover my whole site?

Okay i have always entered %26lt;body background ="url"%26gt; to get my myspace background and its always worked,

and now its not!

and i have cleared out my entire myspace and i cant get it to work!!

what am i doing wrong?!

I imagine its possible, there are a multitude of myspace editors out there, if you can't find an editor that will help, then it shouldn't be that hard to generate the HTML yourself, Do a quick google search for it.

course you can change youre profile bakground and add a picture of yourself or even get a code layouts that use for the contact table and paste onto youre myspace page. but you cant use any nudies pictures cause myspace will delete youre account .
